Hey there did you want to come along but miss out? Well please enjoy this walk through the Creative Showcase Event Projects February 2024.
Lisa and I designed (maybe CASED) ten projects between the two of us to show different techniques to the ladies.
We had a great selection of projects some showing card folding, some showing new products, a little bit of vintage, a little bit of colour and most of all just a bunch of really cool ideas.
Our projects are:
Both Lisa & I used the Flight & Airy free Sale-A-Bration Designer Series Paper (DSP) for a project each. Both cards also featured circles & no we didn’t plan that its just what happened. My card had the birds that we fussy cut and was up on a dimensional. Lisa’s card was a locking card that the blue circle was attached on one side and the white circle with the bird in in was attached on the other side.
Then we did my Perennial Lavender suite card. The Paper butterfly accents are so cool and really made the designer series paper pop with the slit double side view technique. I chose to use Mothers Days words but some of the ladies just made the card into a birthday card.
Next we did Lisa’s Autumn Leaves Bundle (this one has carried over from the September-December 2023 Mini) and she used the Oxidized Copper 12″x12″ Specialty DSP to make the maple leaf really stand out.
Onto the Fractured Technique card next with the free Trusty Toolbox DSP. This card was super fun. I cased the idea to use the Hexagon punch & extra pieces of DSP from Lisa Broocke Freeman. It’s nowhere near as confusing as it looks and I have a video over on my YouTube channel here.
Another carryover item is the Translucent Florals Bundle and Lisa used this to showoff the DistINKtive stamps that are included. I love how the flowers just stamp with all the layers, it’s so cool.
Now it’s time for a little music with the Merry Melody Embossing folder and much discussion followed as to what is the correct way up for the attaching to a card. There is a little hint on the side of your folder with the number 24 as shown below:
Lisa finished this card off with some blending and then heat embossing the drum set & words.
So while we were heat embossing & blending we did the Panda Bear Card. I was focusing on the Deckled Rectangles & Deckled Circles dies as they are my all time favourite dies I think. This very simple and effective card used the rectangles to create a mask. We blended inside with pool party & lost lagoon. Then we stamped the Panda in StazOn to give it more definition and then cut out a circle using the circles and heat embossed the words.
Onto our last two projects.
Lisa had the bright pink of Berry Burst with the Darling Details bundle and Radiating Stitches Dies. She finished it off with a little bit of gingham.
The final project was a vintage look created with the Notes of Nature Bundle. For me, I loved this bundle the minute I saw it but I’m not great at doing vintage so I completely CASED this card from Robin Broome. Robin put it together beautifully using the new brayer on the Fern Embossing folder and inking all the elements to create this amazing card.
